These guidelines are presented to provide clarity on the rules of engagement in all discussions on this platform. The GESPC Community is a private and secure discussion group and all members have been vetted and approved as representing a qualified public-sector representative. After reading these guidelines -- first-time users will need to register and be approved prior to log in. Below are the basic rules that we ask all members abide by during your time in the community:
-
Membership. Participation is limited to public-sector members that are a part of a state agency or local unit of government; municipality, university, school, hospital, community college, county etc.
-
Protect your Password. Don’t share your password with others. Each approved member registers under a unique username and password. Your username will accompany all your individual comments and posts making it important that you protect your password. It’s up to you whether or not your username identifies you by name or alias based upon the username you provide during registration.
-
Advertisements. Refrain from endorsement of any product or company by name. Similarly, complaints that identify product names, companies or individuals in the industry are prohibited and will be removed when identified. While every effort will be made to ensure content is advisement free, we cannot control content on sites that are linked to in a comment. For that reason we encourage you to limit links to websites in your comments. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by the ESC.
-
Moderate your content. Although the ESC provides content moderators (see “Moderators” below), members need to take responsibility for ensuring that what they post or upload is not only accurate, but appropriate content for the GESPC Community. In addition, we prohibit the use of obscene or vulgar language.
The GESPC Online Community Managers will:
-
Act to promote community, collaboration, and helpful information exchange.
-
The GESPC Online Community will provide subject matter experts from the Energy Services Coalition to oversee and moderate all discussions to ensure the accuracy of the information being shared. The Online Community Moderators are Dale Hahs and John Canfield, who both serve as ESC State Liaison team members. The Community Manager is Jim Arwood, ESC Executive Director. Combined, the three collectively have more than 60 years of experience with GESPC and state programs that promote the benefits of, and provide education on, the use of GESPC in public and private facilities.
-
Moderation. We care greatly about our members and the accuracy of the information that is shared in this community. The Community Moderators monitor comments to ensure compliance with these Community Guidelines. If a comment is flagged for being in violation of these Guidelines, our moderators will contact the member and provide guidance on why the post was not approved, and work with the author to resolve the issue.
Commenting Period
- Comments are welcome on all posts. We will not close the discussion on any topic and encourage you to visit and revisit conversations of interest often. The GESPC Online Community Managers will maintain a repository of questions and answers as a resource for members.
If you have blog ideas, send us an email at jarwood@energyservicescoalition.org. We’re happy to hear from you.
